În apropiere de Staul Silvaşu de Sus, în Judeţul Hunedoara se află unul dintre cele mai importante lăcaşe de cult din ţara noastră, Mănăstirea Prislop, considerată de către credincioşii ortodocşi un loc unic. Biserica ansamblului, ce datează din secolul al XVII-lea este un monument istoric de mare valoare, însă întreaga zonă are o semnificaţie specială mai ales pentru români.

Data de 25 noiembrie a anului 1948 va fi momentul ce avea să schimbe parcursul zonei, atunci Mitropolitul Ardealului îl aduce în zonă de Ieromonahul Arsenie Boca, cel ce avea să restaureze întreg complexul monahal, aflat în acea perioadă în stare jalnică. Aceasta avea să facă mult mai mult decât să restaureze construcţia, el va înfiinţa o şcoală monahală, dar şi o cooperativă mănăstirească, locul unde s-au executat cele mai frumoase covoare tradiţionale, cu modele străvechi ce aparţin zonelor Sibiu, Făgăraş şi Hunedoara.

În semn de admiraţie şi respect pentru munca sa, Părintele Arsenie Boca este înmormântat în incinta ansamblului monahal, iar mormântul său, veşnic împodobit cu flori multicolore este vizitat zilnic de sute de credincioşi de pretutindeni. Se spune că cei care ajung la mormântul părintelui se vor umple de o linişte sufletească deosebită sau chiar că se vor vindeca de diverse boli şi vor depăşi cu succes cumpenele vieţii. Este greu de spus dacă aceste aspecte sunt reale, însă credincioşii continuă să spere în forţa divină a preotului.
As a sign of admiration and respect for his work, Father Arsenie Boca is buried in the monastic ensemble, and his grave, eternally adorned with multicolored flowers, is visited daily by hundreds of believers everywhere. La momentul actual, este foarte uşor să ajungi la mănăstire, fie cu maşina personală sau cu mijloacele de transport în comun, autobuzele circulă zilnic chiar până în Silvaşu de Sus. De aici şi până la mănăstire trebuie să străbaţi pe jos un traseu de 3 kilometri, uşor şi de asemeni foarte plăcut. Mănăstirea Prisolp este un loc deosebit şi merită să vizitezi zona pentru a te bucura de peisaje pitoreşti, dar şi de liniştea absolută din zonă.
